Fort Myers Beach Vacation and Travel Information

The Fort Myers Beach 360 website is dedicated to promoting FMB in a visually dynamic way for our island residents and visitors. Photos and Island images are created and posted by FMB360.com. FMB360 delivers local commerce info, events, local area events, and fishing reports from local fishing teams. Our fishing reports are updated as the teams come ashore at the end of the day. FMB360 also posts daily news and updates the website daily.

July 25th Sunset Notes:
Mars and Saturn are converging with Venus to form a skinny triangle in the sunset sky. When the sun sets tonight, go outside and look west. Venus pops out of the twilight first, followed by Saturn, then Mars.

Fort Myers Beach Lions - The Fred Robinson Scholarship
Fort Myers Beach Lions Club

Tabia Lees a senior at Cypress Lake High School   has received the 1st annual Fred Robinson Memorial Scholarship for the Arts from the Fort Myers Beach Lions Club.

The Fred Robinson Scholarship is named for a long time Beach Lion who loved the arts and for many years ran the Annual Lions International Peace Poster contest locally in conjunction with Cypress Lakes High School's Art Department.

The Beach Lions will also be announcing the rest of the Lions We Serve Scholarships in the next few weeks.  The Lion's Scholarship Fund is a special Project of the Fort Myers Beach Lion's Foundation which was set up in 1993 and has been awarding local scholarships every year since.  The Fund receives separate tax deductible donations from the public and is augmented by proceeds from the Fort Myers Beach Lions Shrimp Festival the second weekend in March every year.  "Lions are proud of their record of never using any of the funds donated to the Foundation for administration or fund raising." Patsy Dorsey Foundation President noted. "Tax deductible donations are welcome for the Scholarship Fund and may be made to Fort Myers Beach Lions Foundation, PO Box 5019, Ft. Myers Beach FL 33932."   Information about attending an upcoming meeting is available by calling Lion Jerry at 823-8327 or  fmblions.com.

WILD FLOWER SEASON

Growers of Florida wildflowers have taken a major step toward increasing the supply of native Florida seed. The seeds are now available for beautification projects and consumer use. Wildflower Seed And Plant Growers Association, Inc.

The officers of the association are Mr. J. R. Newbold III, President and Hugh Kirby, Executive Vice President.

Currently, wildflower production in Florida falls far short of demand. This results in seeds for large scale Florida highway beautification projects, totaling millions of pounds annually, being purchased from major seed producing states such as Texas.
A group a Florida wildflower producers, working in conjunction with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, is developing strategies to increase planted wildflower acreage and seed production.

Beautify your island home today with some great South Florida Wildflowers.
